About me
A life shaped by food, vegetables, and community
From a bicycle-delivered salad box in Sydney to six cookbooks and a global audience, my work has always been about connection.
It started with a salad
Some of you may know me as the salad lady. That is where it all began. I started a small salad business in Sydney, delivering boxes by bicycle around my neighborhood.
Inside those boxes, filled with vegetables, I discovered something much bigger than food. I discovered how cooking and sharing meals could bring people together. That idea has stayed with me ever since.
A different way to think about vegetables
Vegetables are often framed as something we should eat. For me, they are something to celebrate.
Cooking with vegetables has become a way for me to understand identity, culture, and memory. It is how I reconnect with my heritage and explore the flavors that shaped me.
This work is not about restriction or rules. It is about comfort, creativity, and finding joy in everyday cooking.
Cookbooks, recipes, and stories
Since those early days, I have written six cookbooks and contributed recipes and writing to publications around the world.
My books are where recipes and stories come together in a deeper way. The website builds on that work by creating a space where recipes live alongside ideas, memories, and everyday cooking inspiration.
Why this space exists
This site is a place to answer a simple question: What should I cook tonight? It’s also a place to slow down. To explore food as something that connects us to each other and to ourselves.
Whether you are cooking for one, for family, or for friends, I hope you find something here that feels both simple and meaningful.
